Holiday Gifts That Positively Impact Your Community

This year, Social Enterprise Southwest has made social procurement for holiday gifts easy with Meaningful Markets happening across the region!

You may be wondering, what exactly is a “Meaningful Market”? The first Meaningful Market was hosted in 2017 by Pillar Nonprofit Network in London, ON. The idea was to create an evening of festive shopping, networking & holiday cheer, that exclusively features the products of local entrepreneurs and enterprises invested in creating positive community impact. The inaugural edition was such a success that, via SESW, we are now hosting Meaningful Markets in London as well as Saint Catharines and Huron County. Here are details for each event:

Meaningful Market, London

When: December 5th, 4 PM - 8 PM

Where: Innovation Works, 201 King St., London, Ontario, N6A 1C9

Entry is FREE but a donation of socks is encouraged. All socks collected will go to 519 Pursuit and given out this holiday season.

PLUS, want to meet a few NEW social enterprises in our city? At 5pm, Libro Credit Union sponsored start-up social enterprises will compete for a $500 grand prize.

Meridian Meaningful Market, Niagara

Where: St Catharines Golf & Country Club, 70 Westchester Avenue, St. Catharines, ON L2R 3P4

When: November 27, 3:30 PM – 6:00 PM

Even more exciting is that the Meridan Meaningful Market will be happening during a social enterprise pitch competition! Five social entrepreneurs will pitch their business or idea to a panel of judges. The winner of the pitch competition, selected by the judges, will win $2,500 cash to use in their social enterprise; the people's choice winner, selected by the audience, will receive $500 to do the same.

Join us for an evening to celebrate social entrepreneurship and doing well to do good.

Hors d'oeuvres and refreshments will be provided.

About: The first event of its kind in Huron County, the Meaningful Market is a collection of local vendors selling gifts whose proceeds support social impact in our community. Visit Brussels' new Four Winds Barn for a drop-in evening of festive shopping, food and beverages from local suppliers!
